Our 2018 Results
IGCSE and IB scores dominated by A and A* at Regent’s
This year the A* and A grade passes in IGCSE exams at Regent’s were higher than ever with 37% of the exams passed at the top two grades. The average pass rate in the UK at A* and A is almost half this, 20.5%.
91% of all Regent’s candidates passes 5 or more exams at A* to C and the UK pass level is 67%.
In the IB Diploma the school once more outperformed the world average and our graduates scored are the equivalent of gaining 3 A levels at A*, A, A. With such high grades graduates have been accepted at high quality universities around the world.
Dr Jones, Head of the Secondary School said, “Hard work and excellent teaching have once more produced great results. This year is particularly pleasing as the IB and IGCSE groups have been the largest in the school’s history.”

We are delighted to announce that, yet again, our students have shown that they aspire to excellence. Class of 2017, like previous years, have surpassed the world average points for the diploma. Our 7 year average is 33 points which is 4 points higher than the world average.
These results highlight The Regent’s International School’s consistency in achieving world-class results in a world-class qualification. The universities destinations of our students show that our students go on to a range of different specialist areas at a variety of colleges around the world.

These achievements reflect the hard work and commitment students have shown throughout the programme and to their learning. Our students, through the IB programme, have furthered their overall academic abilities, increased their opportunities and probability of university and college enrolment in North America, Australia, Europe and Asia including Thailand. They have also developed into more responsible global citizens.
Our 2016 Results
- 87% of our students gained five A*- C grades (UK average 67%)
- Over 80% of our students gained five A*- C grades including English and Maths
- 95% of students passed the IB Diploma
- IBDP point average exceeded global average
- IBDP 7 year average is four points higher than the global average
Our 2015 Results
- Average IB Diploma score of 36 – highest in Thailand and above world average of 29.88.
- Regent’s has achieved 100% pass rate third year in a row
- Four students achieved 42 points out of a maximum of 45
- 40% of students achieved 38 or more points, placing them in the top 12.4% of students worldwide.
IB performance for school leavers around the world is measured on a 45 point scale and this year the global average was just below 29.88. Regent's International Bangkok students out-performed the rest of the world by 20 per cent with an average score of 36. Four students had scores of 42 out of the maximum score of 45 and the entire class of 30 students passed the IB Diploma.
There were many individual success stories. Students leaving The Regent's International School, Bangkok this year are heading off to many of the top universities in the world. These include Name Luengrattanakorn who has accepted a place to read Law at University of Cambridge. Others received offers to UCL, LSE and Imperial College in the UK as well as University of California, Berkely and University of Chicago in the US.
Principal Peter Hogan said "Over 70 per cent of the staff teaching the IB are also examiners or inspectors for the IB. There are a highly skilled community of excellent teachers. The teaching at Regent's Bangkok is world class, the students are happy here - committed to their studies and very able so the results surpass the world averages. So far our graduates have been going to study at world's best universities. The whole school is delighted and inspired by the success of these hard working young people!"

Our 2014 Results
- 100% IB Diploma pass rate.
- Bonus points average well above the world average.
- In 2014 in the vast majority of subjects, The Regent’s International School, Bangkok, scored above the world average and in some subjects this was by more than 1 whole level.
The Regent’s International School, Bangkok students consistently set a high standard for grade results by achieving IGCSE results that surpass the UK National average and IB Diploma results that are higher than the global average. Across the board of subjects, last year’s results saw Regent’s students outperform UK and international students.
Top students amongst the student body often achieve scores of 8 - 10 A* to C results. Many of the IGCSE students will carry on their academic career at Regent’s Bangkok as they progress to take on the challenges of the IB Diploma.
Regent’s students can proudly call themselves some of the top scorers in the world with a 100% IB Diploma pass rate and two of our students achieving 40 points*; a score that is seen as a mark of excellent academic achievement.
These achievements see Regent’s Bangkok students prepare to go onto study at some of the top universities in the world including Cambridge University in the UK and Cornell University, in USA. Others include UBC in Canada, University of Aberdeen in the United Kingdom and Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands.
IB diploma students are often revered as well rounded individuals as universities across the world recognise the IB Diploma as the benchmark of pre-university qualifications and is highly regarded by university tutors and key figures. Currently there are more than 1,200,000 Diploma Programme students at over 3,850 schools in 141 countries across the world.
