At the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month – we will remember them. Yesterday 11th November, Regent’s International School Bangkok honours the men and women who were killed during the two world wars and other conflicts. Previously known as Armistice Day, it was renamed Remembrance Day after the Second World War. This year’s Remembrance Day assembly was about understanding that peace, although often coming at a great cost, will prevail in the end. To honor the memory of those who fell protecting this peace, our students pinned their poppies on the Poppy Appeal board. All the money collected will go towards the Royal British Legion which looks after the families of those who have given their lives and those who have suffered injuries in combat. Today we shall remember the fallen and those who returned and the sacrifices they made to protect our freedom. We must never forget.
